They want people like me to vote and donate to the party, but otherwise to sit down and shut-up. It’s why the party got so upset when I started encouraging my followers to attend the upcoming Conservative Convention.
Erin O’Toole often said during the leadership race that the UNFCCC Paris Agreement targets were “non-binding” seemingly as a way of not upsetting the base by supporting it, while still keeping his foot in the door to embrace it once he became leader.
This is all quite funny coming from the Liberal party that also ignores and tolerates Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s past of dressing up in blackface so many times he was unable to answer how many times he had done it, as if he was as prolific as Al Jolson.
O’Toole spent the entire campaign marketing himself as the “True Blue” conservative, but there were many people inside the Conservative base who felt that O’Toole and MacKay were both establishment Red Tories, while the real Conservative candidates were Leslyn Lewis and Derek Sloan.
Last night Erin O’Toole accepted the torch of the leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada from outgoing leader Andrew Scheer. It was a strange sense of deja-vu back to the 2017 leadership race when CPC members saw the O’Toole camp eliminated in the 12th round and hand Andrew Sheer not only his first lead […]

There have been two major incidents of antisemitism and not a single politician from any political party has done more than the absolute bare minimum (asking an intern to make a Twitter statement), and even said statements took days and weeks to ring out. All the while, municipal mayors clamour for eliminating racism but sideline anti-semitism.
For the second half of the debate, O’Toole made himself look more progressive than MacKay. He kept on repeating that he was proud to have been one of the few conservative MP’s that supported the 2013 transgender bathroom bill, and called MacKay transphobic for not supporting the NDP legislation. This is the same Erin O’Toole who told social conservative voters last week that he should be their second choice.
