Edmonton Eskimos name change is driven by activists patronizing Inuit Canadians

Inuit Canadians do not need to be talked down to, and the Edmonton Eskimos name change will be remembered by many as a patronizing and useless decision made in the midst of the crazy, woke world of 2020. What a shame.

Canada’s Inuit defend the Edmonton Eskimos Name

Despite the faux-outrage of the left in demanding that well-known brands, movies, and sports teams need to be canceled or heavily changed, the Canadian Inuit really could not care less about calls for the Edmonton Eskimos CFL football team to have their name changed.

Calvin Helin: Eagle Spirit pipeline update and eco-colonialism challenges

“In the northern communities alone, it’s north of 90% unemployment. People desperately want work and to be able to have some meaning in their lives, be able to have opportunities for their families. In a perverse way, these environmental groups are stealing those opportunities from Indigenous people.”

During the 1912 Olympics, Thorpe represented the United States as an enrolled member of the Sac and Fox Nation. Minister Bennett sidesteps questions on release date for MMIWG National Action Plan

“I am disappointed that the government refuses to even provide a new date for the release of this important report and instead blames the delay on Covid-19. Families have been waiting long enough. At the same time, the Minister is asking for $6 million in additional funding to respond to the Inquiry. Without the government’s response, how will anyone know if the funding is actually going to help the families of missing and murdered indigenous women and girls.”

Calvin Helin: ‘Eco-Colonization’ is hurting First Nation Resource Development

Helin: “As I said, the movement is equally ideological: the institutions that make up Big Green want to push socialism as a solution to ‘saving the planet.’ They [Big Green] don’t stand for debate, and they will never seek to engage in dialogue with detractors. This is what makes them so dangerous. “

Conservative leadership candidate, Peter MacKay, on reconciliation for Canada’s First Peoples

MacKay: I believe that meaningful reconciliation with Indigenous people needs to go beyond just words. We should be seeking partnerships with Indigenous people on new projects, especially those that have been approved by democratically elected Indigenous leaders. I am proud to have been part of a government that made significant progress settling large numbers of land claims, improved property rights for First Nation’s women, and improved overall transparency and accountability for the betterment of on-reserve First Nations.
