Back on July 26th, the Alberta town of Strathmore’s council recently passed a bylaw (No. 23-27) banning advertising within the boundaries of the town that includes an image of a fetus. Violation of this bylaw can result in a fine of up to $3,000.
At trial, Ansari said he knew nothing about what was going on and couldn’t be blamed for his tenant’s activities. Justice Hugh McConnell, however, called Ansari’s testimony by turns contradictory, “bizarre in the extreme,” “divorced from the truth” and “a lie.”
Liana Paiva also tries to claim that any publicly provided good is “socialism” not seeming to realize that the high-quality services that government proves in the Western capitalistic country are only possible off the backs of activity generated by the free market. In actual socialist countries, the government controls everything and resource shortages are common.
Liana Piava, Alberta NDP candidate in Peace River, in spite of criticizing the UCP government’s addictions policy like the other members of her party, actually has indirectly endorsed much of what the UCP is doing and newly proposing.
The Alberta NDP seems to be trying to prove that assumption wrong that they aren’t socialists by fielding several candidates in the 2023 Alberta provincial election who are, are linked to, or praise, communists/communism.

This was part of protests against the pipeline being built on Wet’suwet’en reserve land, which the tweet Valencia retweeted called a “climate-changing pipeline” implying things like the pipeline were responsible for the flooding in 2021.
The problem is that because Alberta is in such a tight provincial election, the Alberta NDP has taken the reactionary position to the UCP and has begun to deny the problem of crime and or the effectiveness of law enforcement to deal with the problem.
It’s true that many US states have adopted new systems in which the money follows the child – to wild success. But the idea is also tremendously popular worldwide. Norway, Sweden, Spain, France, and more, all have robust voucher systems, while school choice is a constitutional right in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Ireland!
While ignoring crime for well over a year, Gondek saw it as far more pressing for her to call a municipal “climate emergency,” attack the police for moving illegal homeless encampments, and of course, pass a bylaw preventing people from protesting drag queen story hour events.
