Under Premier Jason Kenney, the party wandered away from the principles supported by the mainstream conservative movement. The shared values that allowed the merger between the former PC and Wildrose parties – things like smaller government, economic freedom, and grassroots democracy – were effectively abandoned.
From a responsible parent or just a rational person’s perspective, children should not be bombarded with progressive politics and fringe lifestyle choices growing up. Kids should be read books by either their parents or responsible adults who don’t crave an audience to show up their eccentricities to.
After the man begins to walk away from the woman filming, Josie Luetke (who is the youth coordinator for the CLC), until he notices her with the camera out and proceeds to threaten her for documenting his heinous statements, shouting, “Chick with the camera, if you put it in my face again I’ll put a bullet in your head.”
The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO) has been releasing multiple school resources for their member teachers to teach Ontario elementary-age children about “white privilege” through things like the Re-Think, Re-Connect, Re-Imagine PDF package they released fairly recently.
Amisk Mayor Bill Rock pointed out that anyone who is planning on running for leadership of the UCP and doesn’t know what issues Albertans are concerned about clearly is out-of-touch.
Essentially Ramsey was targeted by other members of the board despite being a veteran of the board himself, having served on it since 1989, and being a highly qualified school teacher, likely because he made “transphobic comments” on the internet, based on the last time other board members went after him.
Ultimately his cardinal sin was the lockdowns and over enforcement of the mandates. It is hard for a lot of conservatives and anti-lockdown advocates to look past the images of pastors being arrested and thrown in jail for trying to hold a service. The AHS lying about their numbers to fire healthcare workers didn’t help either.
Although one would assume a party that is polling up to 5 percent (in polls they are included in) and “Other” polling indicating New Blue has strength in Southwest and Southern Ontario, the legacy media does not think they are worth hearing from at the leaders’ debates.
Of course, the PCs, NDP, and Liberals are getting the most attention being the highest polling parties in Ontario, but at the same time, one would think the media would be interested in talking about a new party (only slightly over a year old) that has managed to field a full slate of candidates before any other party and that almost has EDAs in every riding.
This is a significant achievement, not only because the New Blue Party had to develop party infrastructure and EDAs at the same time the recruitment process was started to find candidates, but also because it was all done democratically. If a riding had more than one person wanting to run for the New Blue Party their local EDA had an election, as required by their party constitution, which happened in many ridings across Ontario.
