The freedom convoy headed to Ottawa is making a deliberate effort to show that while they are frustrated with covid vaccine mandates and the Arrivecan app, an app on an iPhone or Android device that tracks the vaccine status of Canadian truckers entering Canada. They seek a practical solution to ending the current restrictions and mandates. That of course requires speaking directly to the government in one way or another.
Even though Canada finds itself in a different position than the Americans did 13 years ago, the 2022 freedom trucker convoy is a response to the same sort of problem; government meddling with the healthcare of its citizens, burning boatloads of cash and damaging the economy in the process.
Alberta NDP leader Rachel Notely posted a tweet today that states “It’s not enough to not be racist, we must be anti-racist,” above a video where she explained the Alberta NDP’s plan to “combat racism” which itself seems pretty racist.
It is a statement that seems absurd to have to make but it is important that elected officials, especially those in the political establishment, are starting to make the case against the ridiculous government restrictions.
Truckers opposed to federal Covid-19 vaccine mandates are preparing to converge on Ottawa in a protest expected to draw a convoy of at least 1600 rigs, according to organizers.
Reading through it this morning, however, left me shocked and appalled that such a quaint little paper would publish such an ignorant tirade. “The Anti-Vaxxers have crossed a line; rein them in” in big bold print. The author, Mr. Craig Westcott, opens with how he arrived at his local booster clinic on Saturday, 8 January 2022, to find it more or less empty, reporting success in getting his shot.
Recently in Quebec, a father was unable to see his 12-year-old child because his ex-wife petitioned the courts to have his visitation privileges removed until February because he is unvaccinated. The judge ruled that this was in the “best interest” of the child despite COVID-19 not posing a significant danger to children and the child already being vaccinated.
In spite of the fact that the Canadian federal government nor any provincial government does not have a mandatory vaccination policy for the private sector, some companies have taken it upon themselves to try and enforce these draconian mandates on their employees anyway.
Albertans should not forget that this ICU bed data, that the AHS is now openly stating that they retroactively edit due to blatant misreporting, was the basis for all the restrictions the Alberta government put in place over the past several months. It was all bureaucratic fraud and yet almost nobody noticed it happen except for David Dickson.
Dr. William Makis is well known on Twitter for being an Alberta doctor who is outspoken against what he sees as bad practices and corrupt behaviour within AHS. Just a few days ago, he was hit with a legal threat from AHS for his recent comments made about AHS, and its Executive.
