O’Toole had done an interview with the Rebel, but to appeal to the segment of the population that would never vote for him, he denied that he did.

Typically we see this cycle play out the other way around. Candidates tend to adopt more radical positions to capture the ideologically-driven vote of their respective party during the primaries, before moderating in the general election to attract voters in the middle.

O’Toole not only has a track record of being a flip-flopping liar, but this more recent attempted purge of an actual honest and decent man should be a bridge too far for any Conservative member, and the party membership and Conservative MPs should be pushing for O’Toole’s removal from the party.

The Liberal MPs are overtly trying to seize onto American political controversy and hyper-partisan Democrat talking points in order to smear Conservatives in Canada, which no doubt is damaging open discourse in the country when politicians begin to find thin excuses such as these to attack one another.
