This is a wake-up call to Eastern Canadians. They have to decide whether they are really enviro-radicals who wish to significantly lower their standards of living and simply have oil and gas production shift overseas, or if they will recognize that a modern economy needs cheap and efficient energy to operate.
In case you weren’t aware, the leadership review vote for Erin O’Toole following the Conservative Party’s recent underperformance at the polls has already taken place. Were you aware this had happened? It seems that the fly-by-night nature of the vote has kept many Conservative Party members unaware of what is going on.
A lot of Calgarians have taken it for granted that just because Naheed Nenshi is not running for reelection as mayor that the city is moving away from trends of yearly increases in property taxes. It seems unthinkable that anyone in the year 2021 would be foolish enough to continue making it more expensive to live in Calgary while downtown is facing an office vacancy rate of 30 percent, but to politicians supported by Big Union money, it’s a no-brainer.
From all the information I have looked through, it seems like the most logical conclusion that AHS is staffed with mostly NDP-friendly bureaucrats who would like nothing better than to make Kenney look worse than he already does.
The media is spinning for the AHS and quoting both left-wing activist doctors and the NDP directly as if their defenses of inefficiency within AHS is a legitimate counterargument against the data that proves AHS was given far more funds than they are currently utilizing to solve the claimed shortages of ICU beds.
O’Toole failed to bring many Liberals to the Conservative side while alienating many Conservative voters who then either stayed home or voted for the PPC. O’Toole had even said before and during the election that he did not want people to support the Conservative Party if they disagreed with him on certain issues surrounding social policy and public health mandates. Not much of a mystery why some chose not to vote for the CPC this election.
While the election still isn’t over; Trudeau and the Liberals are definitely having a bad campaign and it was a mistake to call an election now. So let’s be realistic; it is a real possibility O’Toole and the Conservatives could win the election, but the current polling shows that victory would be by the skin of his teeth.
Alberta Premier Jason Kenney along with Health Minister Tyler Shandro, and Chief Medical Officer Deena Hinshaw in a press conference on Wednesday evening suddenly reversed course on their “open for good” strategy for COVID-19 and suddenly plunged the province into new “health emergency” restrictions.
The Peoples’ Party of Canada may not gain a seat in this election, but they might not need one to achieve a significant victory. There are multiple scenarios in which the PPC could come away from this vote in a much stronger position to affect Canadian politics going forward.
After watching the only English debate it was clear that the only party leader who can truly be declared the winner is the People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier, despite not even participating.
