First term Democratic Representative of New York’s 14th congressional district, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, tweeted out today, in a now deleted tweet that “You absolutely love to see it” in response to the falling oil price and market contractions.
Trudeau and the Liberals plan to centralize control over information that seems to be following 3 easy steps. First, they reward friendly media and/or incentivize major outlets towards favorable coverage. This is done by the $595 million bailouts that would make the mainstream media dependent on the Liberal’s money to remain afloat.
Even though it’s hard to see right now, the COVID crisis gives us opportunities for the future. Opportunities to look at who we are and why we follow the paths we do currently. We are conservatives, there might be different types of conservatives reading this article, but we are conservatives overall. There are a few big questions we need to be asking ourselves, that should bring about changes when this is all over.

Alberta is far over-performing on COVID19, the province has consistently shown lower infection and hospitalization numbers than predicted. It isn’t known how much of an impact social distancing and lockdowns have had on the virus but it can be partly thanked for the incredibly flat curve the province has been keeping on COVID19 infections.
MacKay, on the other hand, has taken the cowardly policy approach of a frontrunner who has nothing to gain by sticking his neck out for any policies that might even be considered mildly controversial. The odd time he has started to show some backbone in this race, he’s had to backtrack and apologize for his actions.
The battle over CAA in India is on hold for now, but will likely flare up again once the quarantines and lockdowns are lifted. When it does, there will be a very interesting philosophical question to answer for the Left. Do they stand for the oppressed, or are they simply against anything a Right-leaning government does.
COVID19 is a severe issue, and every country should be taking reasonable precautions to avoid unnecessary social gatherings and non-essential forms of work that require in-person social interactions. It seems though that the response to COVID19 has become a relatively black and white issue to many.
The National Hockey League just sent out an update on its situation with COVID-19 on Twitter stating that the hockey season will have to be further postponed as it is recommending that players, coaches and NHL staff stay in self-isolation until April 30.
Proposals for a virtual Parliament are, in my view, simply one more Liberal attempt to neuter this ancient and noble institution. No website can replace the particular environment of the work we do. It may not always be comfortable for those speaking, but it is in the interests of our democracy that ideas are constantly challenged.
