There are important parallels between the 1963 case of the self-immolation of Vietnamese Buddhist monk Thích Quảng Đức and the recent case in British Columbia (2021) of a father who was forced against his will by the court and the state to facilitate the pharmaceutical “sex reassignment” of his teenage daughter. Both cases speak to the desperation of people whose rights were trampled by an invasive all-powerful state and who were ignored by an indifferent and corrupt establishment beholden media.
The situation in Chilliwack has been exasperated by the activities of the Chilliwack Progress which has shown a constant bias against conservatives and is now serving as a virtual agent for Carin Bondar defending her against all questions and of course framing the issue in completely deceptive ways, and even publishing her advertising sign free of charge, all while Elections BC looks the other way.
A left-leaning Chilliwack School Board trustee candidate performs fellatio on a microscope and swings naked on a wrecking ball and receives no critical attention from the media, but when conservative trustee Barry Neufeld lights a cigarette the gates of media hell open and the flames of faux-outrage ensue. A story of egregious media bias.
Those people in the LGBTQ community throwing stones at Christians would thus do well to realize they are doing so in a glass house. It is long overdue that the LGBTQ community began to learn that toleration is a two-way street. What kind of “inclusion” excludes the rights and beliefs of one of the largest demographics in Canadian society? What kind of love actively promotes hatred of Christians?
And so two unlikely allies have joined forces to call for a national inquiry into the medical and pharmaceutical transitioning of our most vulnerable children. Similar inquiries have been ordered or called for in the United Kingdom and Australia, and many US States have passed or are considering laws restricting minor transition. It is long overdue that Canada followed suit. All we are asking at this time is for an investigation to get to the truth.
