Although it has been said many times before and has been wrong, right now it does genuinely feel like Canadians are becoming tired of Justin Trudeau and the Liberals governing Canada. Trudeau had his ups and downs in the polls before the 2019 and 2021 elections, but for several months now it has seemed like the Liberals are only ever down, outside of a few outlier polls.
I use the term “Reflexive Contrarianism” to describe the phenomenon of people instantly taking the opposite position to the ones presented by their political or ideological opponents. Unfortunately, this is a mind virus that infects people of all political parties so you will be unable to share this article to easily own the Libs or dunk on the MAGA crowd.
To re-enter a new deal with the Islamic Republic would be a horrible betrayal of the people in Iran fighting the regime on the streets, the families in Lebanon blown up in the Hezbollah Beirut explosion, Israelis under Islamic Republic rocket fire, Yemenis hoping for peace, the victims of PS752 and all others who value humans rights around the globe.
The real story is not that another high-ranking Liberal has been found guilty of a serious ethical, borderline criminal, violation. There is also a very worrying trend we have seen of an increased child mortality rate in flu and RSV cases. All of this is true, but the problem may be that the rhetoric and solutions offered by the expert class may indeed be driving the current problem.
The Conservative Party of Canada, especially their leader Pierre Poilievre was quiet heading into the Mississauga—Lakeshore by-election yesterday. Poilievre only released social media posts encouraging Conservative voters to head to the polls on the day of the election, the same day he also apparently was sending out emails asking CPC members to help pay off […]
