Kronas has started a petition demanding that Bill 67 be voted down, the radical sex-ed and gender theory curriculum the PC government failed to dismantle be finally scrapped, and for merit and equality of opportunity to be valued in the education system instead of equity (ie. equality of outcome).
At every turn, the government pushes the interests of activists instead of the interests of children and their parents.
However, even if Tamara beats all the charges against her this is still a travesty of justice and an abuse of the court process. This is the Canadian government engaging in lawfare, where the process is the punishment. If Tamara is cleared of all charges she still has to spend probably over a year dealing with the legal harassment from the crown, character assassination from the media, and all the things that come with it.
Sadly for BC residents, they are living in a province that seems to be keeping in place COVID-19 restrictions, and in some cases preventing people from working due to being unvaccinated, in order to make a cheap political point.
Trudeau’s approval rating falling in the wake of the Freedom Convoy and Emergencies Act debacle seems to indicated Canadians believe his aggressive rhetoric, use of police resources against the protesters, and freezing of their bank accounts, constitutes a scandal. And this scandal looks like it actually may do permanent damage to Trudeau and the Liberal Party.
The NDP is fundamentally, or should fundamentally be a left-leaning workers’ party. In theory, its base should be a combination of idealistic left-wing university-educated urbanites, as well as public and private sector union workers. Under the leadership of Jagmeet Singh, the NDP has deepened its support in the first category but lost out on the second one. Failing to stand up for the rights of the truckers probably permanently damaged that blue-collar support.
You are talking to a middle-class Canadian man or woman who is double vaccinated but still gave $50 to the freedom convoy because they wanted to end the mandates and passports. How do you convince them that their money would be safe in a Canadian bank?
This morning Freedom Convoy organizer Tamara Lich was denied bail for the crime of “counseling to commit mischief”, a charge that until last week no one had ever heard of or thought could carry a potential 10-year prison sentence. Yet, here we are in Trudeau’s Canada under his Emergencies Act.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau knows his use of the Emergencies Act is extremely unpopular with the majority of Canadians and realizes the only way he can have his use of the act approved is by making political threats.
You can tell Ford appeared to be somewhat shaken up at this press event; aware of the tough political position he has put himself and the PC Party in by backing Trudeau’s demonization of Freedom Convoy supporters over the past few weeks.
