For the second half of the debate, O’Toole made himself look more progressive than MacKay. He kept on repeating that he was proud to have been one of the few conservative MP’s that supported the 2013 transgender bathroom bill, and called MacKay transphobic for not supporting the NDP legislation. This is the same Erin O’Toole who told social conservative voters last week that he should be their second choice.

At the same time, the Minister is asking for $6 million in additional funding to respond to the Inquiry. Without the government’s response, how will anyone know if the funding is actually going to help the families of missing and murdered indigenous women and girls.”
