The Canadian Media’s Demonization Of Pierre Poilievre Isn’t Going To Work

Written By Wyatt Claypool, Posted on December 20, 2022

Recent polling purportedly shows that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has jumped way ahead of Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilieve in terms of popularity, and while it would be incorrect to discount the results of all polling, I think this Trudeau – Poilievre comparison isn’t actually showing us what Canadians really think.

Canadians have been heavily propagandized by both the Canadian legacy media as well as left-leaning American media. Canadians are told to disdain anything or anyone labeled as “extreme” or “far-right” without asking questions regarding evidence; it just so happens that even asking genuine questions about the media’s narrative is also an “extreme” behaviour.

Seeing as Pierre Poilievre has been the Conservative leader for less than 4 months, I am extremely doubtful that Canadians have already developed an overwhelmingly negative impression of him like the Angus Reid poll suggests.

It seems telling that the Angus Reid poll did not bother asking Canadians their party voting preference. The Conservatives have been in a minority or majority government position in the vast majority of the recent polling which would clash with the narrative that Canadians overwhelmingly dislike Poilievre.

Of course, after several months of the media demonizing Poilievre, peddling fake news stories pretending as if Poilievre has “far-right” connections, and insinuating he supports “extremism” because he had made some supportive comments about the peaceful Freedom Convoy protesters in Ottawa (who the media also famously smeared) the average Canadian is going to reflexively say they disapprove of Poilievre in a phone poll.

Angus Reid actually showed that the previous Conservative leader Erin O’Toole had a better net approval rating than Pierre Poileivre (-9% to -20%) and seeing as the Conservative base hated O’Toole, but the media cast him as a more “respectable” Conservative, it should tell you a lot about the effect the media has on polling.

As a side note, it seems that the more radical Justin Trudeau’s own policies and rhetoric become (ie. cracking down on peaceful protesters, freezing bank accounts, trying to censor the internet, etc) the more the media feels the need to paint anyone opposing Trudeau as the real radical. Almost like the media knows Trudeau’s star is falling and he increasingly needs boogiemen to oppose in order to stay in the Prime Minister’s Office.

I believe most people who say they disapprove of Poilieve don’t actually dislike him, but in our new world of constant privacy violations and cancel culture I think most people will parrot the media’s narrative about Polievre.

There may be a lot of astroturfed rage against Poilievre during a federal election, but most people are not going to be voting based on the media’s drama-mongering about whatever thing they clipped out of context that Poilievre said or did. Turns out most people actually like being able to afford groceries, energy, and housing, so while Trudeau may supposedly be surging in his popularity, his policies are widely known to be largely responsible for Canada’s struggling economy.

Mark my words, when the next federal election rolls around and Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives win, there will be a lot of confused legacy media pundits talking in circles about how they cannot believe Canadians voted in a party led by someone they supposedly think is an evil extremist.

The joke will be on them for buying their own propaganda, a joke they will remain completely oblivious to the reality of.

It’s still almost three years from the next election,so attempting to pick a winner now is a fruitless as trying to predict the Stanley Cup winner in 2025. Conservatives have to unite and get out to vote, and realize the main issue it to defeat Trudeau, NOT divide the vote based on their self-serving "principles" as happened in the last election when 26 seats were lost due to vote splitting.

I cannot understand for the life of me why Justin Trudeau is still in power and why the media continues to cover up his corruption. There has to be a way to get rid of this Hitler in power.
