Most Canadians Don’t think Canada is Racist, but 34 Percent Do…And Probably Vote

Although conservative outlets in Canada are celebrating the results of an Angus Reid poll that showed that a majority of Canadians do not believe that Canada is a racist country, it should not be overlooked that 34 percent of poll respondents believe Canada is racist.

It is not only concerning that around a third of the country believes that the place they live is bigoted, and how this may affect the social cohesion of the country, but moreover that third of Canadians is more likely to vote than the two-thirds who correctly believe Canada is not a racist country.

Around 40-35 percent of Canadians who are eligible to vote each election do not vote, so that overall 34 percent of Canadians who think Canada is racist has the potential to be around half of all the voters every single election.

Of course, you cannot know for certain that the 34 percent of Canadians who think the country is racist actually vote, but it stands to reason that if you believe in a left-wing narrative that because Canada had been institutionally racist in the distant past, and or that because not everything is absolutely equitable (equality of outcome) that Canada is a racist country, you probably are politically engaged enough to vote.

For an alternative example, it would be logical that if around 10 percent of Canadians believed Canada is a “transphobic” country it would be safe to assume they vote because to even know what the term “transphobic” means you would likely have to be quite political and to believe it you’d have to travel in far-left social circles.

On the other side, 66 percent of Canadians not believing the country is racist is not an inherently right-wing viewpoint, rather it just isn’t a radical progressive view, so of the 66 percent who reject the notion that Canada is racist is people who may vote Liberal, Conservative, or even NDP, but also may not be politically engaged at all.

So we shouldn’t be looking at this Angus Reid poll as a victory seeing as not only is Canada not a racist country, yet one-third of the population believes it is, but likely around half of those who vote in Canada vote with a narrative in their heads that Canada is racist and must be fundamentally changed.

Conservatives cannot sit back and feel comfortable simply with these small scale “victories” when really figures like that of Canadians view of racism and the country show Canada is becoming more politically divided over time and failing to recognize a culture war is occurring is surrendering in the long term to the far-left narrative.

Having 66 percent of Canadians theoretically on the conservative side of the issue of racism in Canada is good, but unless that majority of people can be activated to vote to reject left-wing politicians like Justin Trudeau, Jagmeet Singh, and increasingly Erin O’Toole, who fundamentally dislike the country, then the country will increasingly think of itself as racist and be more open to radical legislation like the Liberals Bill C-36.

Canada has a problem where one-third of the country could be described as anti-Canadian and even if they like Canada they want it radically altered to fit within the Liberals and NDP’s left-wing hyper-progressive vision, and 34 percent of Canadians is more than enough to do that if they are as engaged in the political system as feared.
