Justin Trudeau Attacked Rebel News Because Truly Independent Media is a Threat to Leftism

You have to hand it to Ezra Levant and Rebel News, a less dedicated group of people wouldn’t be willing to go through the hassle of having to sue Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Debates Commission in order to get into the debates to ask questions, and do it two elections in a row.

This dogged determination to ask questions to the leaders is no doubt in part why Trudeau and the party establishment as a whole do not like Rebel News or its audience for that matter.

Members of the media are expected to ask questions of the party leaders, and maybe even get a few good questions off, but rarely pose any questions that could damage the leader if they attempt to answer the question even somewhat truthfully.

This is why when Justin Trudeau was asked a damaging question by Rebel News about why his Debates Commission for the second election in a row tried to block Rebel from attending the debates, Trudeau lied about not having any control over the Parliamentary Press Gallery then just attacked Rebel.

Trudeau charged Rebel News with spreading “misinformation” and “disinformation” and blaming them for anger in the country, likely trying to imply that Rebel is directly responsible for the protesters that have been coming to his events.

Jagmeet Singh similarly refused to answer the premise of Rebel News’ damaging questions. The first being why Singh demonizes wealthy individuals and corporations as not paying their fair share in Canada yet has been one of the biggest supporters of Big Pharma over the past year.

In Rebel’s follow-up from one of their other reports they then called out Singh’s hypocrisy for standing up for “marginalized Canadians” yet he continuously marginalizes those Canadians in Rebel News’ audience and pushes for policies that would make unvaccinated Canadians second-class citizens. Singh, similarly to the first Rebel News question, refused to even respond to them.

Conservative Party leader Erin O’Toole did directly answer Rebel News’ question about religious and natural immunity exemptions to getting vaccinated, but outside of the debate setting the Conservative Party has been ignoring and even banning Rebel at their events.

Although he isn’t a Rebel News reporter Andrew Lawton should also be highlighted as having asked what can be classified as a damaging question when he asked Justin Trudeau if he still believes two years later that Canada is actively committing genocide against Indigenous women.

This is a reasonable question that highlights for the public Trudeau’s quite clownish virtue signaling and how as Prime Minister he foolishly accepted the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Inquiries’ final report that accused his own government of somehow being actively involved in genocide.

Of course, Trudeau doesn’t attempt to answer Lawton’s actual question but Trudeau being questioned on his past words and actions better informs Canadians of what kind of person Trudeau is than standard safe legacy media questions his record and current platform.

The fact is, only truly independent media poses a threat to the spread of leftism in Canada. Not simply taking establishment politicians at face value and actually asking damaging questions that challenge who they present themselves to the public is necessary for challenging the left-wing grip on Canadian politics.

Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh hate outlets like Rebel News because they do not play the games the legacy media does and ask questions that expose politicians like them as intolerant, censorious, and hypocritical.

Canada needs more outlets that are not funded by the government or political parties that actually want a more transparent political culture where politicians are forced to be honest about their views and political positions. The only way to have less corrupt and establishment politics is to have less corrupt and establishment media.

What a shallow, self-satisfied child. And this is what has been representing us on the world stage? Being a drama teacher, I am sure he is aware of the expression, "Exit stage left". And speaking of ‘left’, I do believe we have all had enough of that end of the spectrum.
