There is rightful outrage at GoFundMe after the crowd-funding website shut down the Freedom Convoy 2022 fundraiser and is going to try and pocket over $9 million not yet paid out to the convoy organizers unless donors apply for refunds.
In place of the official convoy organizers’ GoFundMe page is now a message that states that:
GoFundMe supports peaceful protests and we believe that was the intention of the Freedom Convoy 2022 fundraiser when it was first created.
We now have evidence from law enforcement that the previously peaceful demonstration has become an occupation, with police reports of violence and other unlawful activity.
This is not only a weak justification to take down the fundraising campaign based on smears of the convoy from the legacy media, but it only reveals the hypocrisy of GoFundMe seeing as they have a history of allowing fundraisers for rioter bail funds, and the violent occupation of downtown Seattle.
During the 2020 BLM riots after the death of George Floyd GoFundMe allowed for several bail funds to be hosted on their platform that had the explicit goal of giving their funds to The Bail Project which had the explicit goal to pay the bail costs for rioters.
As most people are aware these riots across the United States resulted in several deaths, thousands of injuries, and billions in property damage yet GoFundMe allowed The Bail Project to collect over $100,000.
Other bail fundraisers not affiliated with The Bail Project were also allowed to operate, including one fundraiser that is still active for the “Riot Kitchen” ANTIFA group whose members were arrested for filling up gasoline cans to bring to downtown Kenosha where buildings were being burned down.

On top of BLM/ANTIFA those bail and riot fundraisers, GoFundMe also platformed and proudly promoted the fundraiser for the Capital Hill Occupation Protest (CHOP) in the city of Seattle back in 2020.
In a community with no police, this farmer is feeding people & bringing them closer together.

It was just recently uncovered that the “warlord” who ruled over what was basically a sad commune, Raz Simone, is indeed a pimp and has sexually exploited several women and girls.
On top of that, CHOP was explicitly violent and there were countless calls to the police due to people being assaulted and people firing guns. It resulted in the injuries of several people and two teenagers being shot, one of whom died, before the mayor of Seattle finally had police clear out the occupiers.
The GoFundMe campaign at the time that this article was written is still active and taking in donations despite CHOP having been dismantled over a year and a half ago.
It all just goes to show the kinds of values that the people who run GoFundMe have. They are willing to let rioters and violent communes fundraise on their platform, yet peaceful Canadian truckers protesting COVID-19 restrictions and vaccine mandates cannot be platformed because of false/exaggerated reports of “violence” which conveniently has yet to be captured on film.
No matter, the Freedom Convoy 2022 organizers have already set up a new fundraiser on the fundraising platform GiveSendGo (which may be currently offline due to the sheer amount of people trying to donate).
Convoy spokesman Benjamin Dichter has also proposed that people who use cryptocurrency consider donating Bitcoin to the convoy.
#Bitcoin twitter, this is our opportunity to teach the world why financial sovereignty is vital. #Gofundme has sabotaged #FreedomConvoyCanada2022 & sized $9 million in donations. This will be an official wallet we just created. #Freedom #BTC @WhatBitcoinDid @jordanbpeterson pic.twitter.com/XdosykHpWe

It is highly unlikely that GoFundMe canceling the Freedom Convoy 2022 fundraiser will put a dent into the resolve of protesters in Ottawa, if anything it just reinforced the need to peacefully resist the draconian government COVID mandates and restrictions.

Please look into the nefarious donations for Justin Trudeau Foundation, it’s become quite significant since taking all power. An average sleuth can’t get much. We Canadian Freedom Lovers would be very grateful if you did. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Honk Honk!
