Freedom Convoy Organizers Extend Invite To Gerald Butts To Meet and Discuss Mandates

The freedom convoy headed to Ottawa is making a deliberate effort to show that while they are frustrated with covid vaccine mandates and the Arrivecan app, an app on an iPhone or Android device that tracks the vaccine status of Canadian truckers entering Canada. They seek a practical solution to ending the current restrictions and mandates. That of course requires speaking directly to the government in one way or another.

This seems to be manifesting by way of asking for former Liberal Chief of Staff Gerald Butts (who is still heavily involved with the party) to sit down for coffee with the Freedom Convoy 2022 organizer Tamara Lich and her team to discuss their concerns and come to a resolution.

It may seem like a long-shot attempt to get Justin Trudeau but as they inferred in their tweets, the worst kept secret in Ottawa is that Gerry Butts still calls the shots in PMO. If the Liberals were to drop the federal mandates, it would likely result in a cascading effect and cause other provinces to drop their mandates. Based on his Twitter interactions Butts actually seems open to the idea of sitting down with the official organizers.

The #CoffeeWithButts initiative seems to be an acknowledgment that in order to end the mandates the Liberal party, through one of their most influential insiders, needs to be aware of what the organizers of the convoy are thinking to understand what they have to do to make them happy while saving face.

Trudeau is perceived as antagonistic to freedom, but negotiations can indeed take place after the Freedom Convoy 2022 organizers seem to have considerable leverage in the public square. This can be seen as establishment conservatives like Alberta Premier Jason Kenney and federal Finance Critic Pierre Poilivre pointing the finger at Prime Minister Trudeau and the Liberal Party for the supply issues across Canada.

What we could end up seeing come out of all of this is a Liberal government with falling polls that must cave to ending the mandates in a way that makes them save face.

By being the ones to ask for this meeting with Butts, Lich and the Freedom Convoy 2022 organizers are appearing to be the real unifiers and cannot simply be brushed off by legacy media outlets as “radicals” or “anti-vaxxers.”

Lich indicated in a recent tweet how well the movement was going by stating:

Did you ever think there would be a time in Canada where Quebec and Alberta would come together and unify under the virtue of #Freedom?

See what happens when politicians & the media get out of the way?

The goal of the trucker convoy at the end of the day must be to find a practical solution to the issue of unconstitutional vaccine mandates and COVID-19 restrictions.  A friendly meeting over Tim Horton’s coffee in the frigid Ottawa winter is a great step forward and a truly Canadian way of doing things. All they are missing are their skates and their hockey sticks.

This is just the beginning to take Canada back. Need to demand Trudeau and Freeland’s resignation

RE: Butts "I assume you’re buying, given the amount of money you’ve made this weekend."

I can see why he’s Trudeau’s buddy, saying incredibly stupid things, which he somehow thinks are clever.

The funds raised of course won’t even cover the expenses once it is divided up amongst the many, many participants. Meanwhile, Butts has double dipped from a charity and taxpayer’s funds to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Never mind Butts has brought negative value to the economy, while the truckers perform a critical service.

Looking at our current leadership, I can’t help but be reminded of the line "bottom feeders, passing themselves off as leaders".
