Roman Baber Schools CBC Host On The Failures of Lockdowns and Dr. Theresa Tam

Former MPP Conservative Party leadership candidate Roman Baber recently appear on the CBC with Rosemary Barton, host of “Rosemary Barton Live,” where he proved how little the Canadian legacy media is willing and able to speak about the negative effects of lockdowns and other restrictions placed on Canadians over the last two years.

On the offset, it should be said that Baber did a great job of discussing the issue of the failures of restrive COVID-19 policies in a way that would be appealing to those who may have thought lockdowns were effective, but the most interesting part of the interview is Barton’s reaction to the discussion.

It is very clear that Barton, who seems fairly representative of the legacy media, is uncomfortable talking about negative outcomes associated with lockdowns and other restrictions. She stutters, has a hard time responding to Baber’s points, and seems to want to quickly move onto other subjects.

Baber isn’t even a particularly fiery individual but his logic was absolutely untouchable which likely left Barton with no angle to make any underhanded jabs at him in the form of a question.

At one point Baber, after Barton asked why he made Dr. Theresa Tam “the target of your frustration” stated that :

Well it’s not frustration, its the abject failure of our pandemic response, namely it appears that the response itself may have been considerably worse that than initial thought, and that was the premise of my argument.

COVID is a very serious infection by that doesn’t mean we should not look at the collateral harm of lockdowns and other public health measures. Look, the government has always been acting on advice of the Chief Medical Officer, that is what it has predicated its actions on, we are seeing the fruits to bear.

We are seeing a mental health catastrophe hurting our country, we know our children have regressed considerably, we know according to the Canadian Medical Association that already 4,000 Canadians have lost their lives because of surgeries delayed, we have an almost doubling in the rates of death from overdose, in Ontario alone we have more than a million cancer screenings missed.

After that response by Baber is exactly when the wheels fall off for Barton who clearly has never discussed the real consequences of lockdowns, evident from her visible discomfort when attempting to craft a follow-up question for Baber.

Barton was obviously totally out of her league when it comes to discussing this political issue. This is likely because she is on the side of the lockdowns debate that has been ignoring the suffering lockdowns caused, in large part because legacy media outlets like CBC have been invested in promoting the junk science behind lockdowns and other COVID restrictions.

Overall Roman Baber did exceptionally well in this interview on the CBC (the full version is linked here) which continues a trend of CPC leadership candidates, like Leslyn Lewis, going on the offensive against the legacy media’s poor reporting and pro-liberal commentary.

More Conservative politicians should take notes on the way leadership candidates like Roman Baber, Leslyn Lewis, and Pierre Poilievre have been dealing with the media, and learn that many Canadians want to see someone pushback against the Canadian legacy media’s leftwing bias.

The GBC (Globalist Broadcasting Corp.)does not represent millions of Canadians who reject it’s radical marxist viewpoints. Their employees (I refuse to call them journalists) live in a echo chamber, hearing only views that correspond with their ultra-progressive narrative. Rosie should stick with fawning over Justin. She is way out of her league when it comes to ambushing superior intellect, and true Canadians, like Baber.

Great article Wyatt. Thank you for sharing this information.

Yes, indeed, Roman did well on the whole COVID issue. NOW is the time for Roman to start supporting Canadian energy by contesting the primary threat to Canadian energy – THE CLIMATE SCARE.

The Conservative Party candidates apparently believe they cannot contest public opinion on the climate scare. To understand why this is a serious mistake, please see my article on this in the National Post at
