Justin Trudeau Betrayed Canada And Liberal Activists Love It

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s power-grab yesterday was truly disturbing. He clubbed Liberal and NDP MPs into voting to approve his use of the Emergencies Act so he can continue his crackdown on protesters by threatening a new election if he lost the vote. 

This is an unprecedented move in Canadian political history. The Emergencies Act has never been used in its more than 30-year existence let alone ever had its use proposed in order to force out protesters demonstrating in front of Parliament and then freeze their bank accounts.

In spite of what some may say, the Emergencies Act was not used to end the blockades along the border. The blockades were already cleared through court injunctions before Trudeau declared an emergency, and the provinces showed no sign of being incapable of dealing with the situation themselves. 

Trudeau’s thirst for emergency powers is indeed troubling and represents the real emergency Canada is facing, but what is more troubling than anything is the way Liberal activists are praising the Prime Minister’s radical actions.

This morning the hashtag #TrudeauWasRight trended on Twitter, with many Liberal activists putting out messages supportive of Trudeau cracking down on his political opponents.

It is frankly scary to see how hateful normal people can be towards those who merely want their basic freedoms back. 

It is common to see these activist Liberals on Twitter arguing that Canadians not being allowed to work, cross the border, and now even protest in Ottawa is not a violation of civil rights while at the same time arguing the Freedom Convoy protest violated their rights. 

The washed-up radio show host Ed The Sock was a major pusher trying to get the #TrudeauWasRight hashtag trending, tweeting it out multiple times, at one point saying he would “metaphorically punch” someone in the face if they talked about tyranny in Canada. 

This is quite ironic seeing as at the exact same time the Liberal activists are calling the convoy supporters “terrorists” and presumably want them dealt with as such, which would involve placing limits on their civil liberties.

How is it not tyrannical to authorize banks to freeze people’s accounts for donating to a protest movement they believed in? How is it not tyrannical for the government to have police violently break up that protest, despite an Ontario judge ruling the demonstration to be lawful?

Clearly, these activists simply do not care what tyranny is and is not. The crackdown on freedom-loving Canadians does not affect them, and they probably like seeing non-liberal Canadians being attacked by the government. It is pure political tribalism of the grossest kind.

Canadians who are out there fighting for civil liberties to be returned should remember how these Liberal activists treated them when the government took this turn into authoritarianism because freedom-loving Canadians should never want to emulate this vindictive behaviour against their own political opponents.

Canadians should love their neighbours and not see the government as a tool to bowl over those they may disagree with politically.

    It’s sad how Trudeau has divided this country with his toxic media barrage.
    It is clear that the actions taken by Trudeau and Freeland have been in the interests of the WEF, not of Canadians.
