Chrystia Freeland Rumoured To Be Resigning Soon

Written By Wyatt Claypool, Posted on January 28, 2023

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland is rumoured to be planning to resign in the next couple of weeks and may accept a job at The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

An Independent Journalist known as The Pleb Reporter on Twitter said he had received multiple sources in government telling him that Freeland was planning to resign in two weeks, which lines up with job opens that the CBC had reported on Freeland applying for back in September.

Back in September of 2022, it was reported that Freeland was in the “middle of the pack” when it came to the applicants seeking to become the next Secretary Director of NATO, replacing Jens Stoltenberg, who has been in the position since 2014.

Freeland was seen as someone who had a good chance of winning as NATO is also rumoured to be looking for a woman to head up the international organization.

Of course, after the rumours broke on social media, conservative media influencers started creating momentum behind expectations for Freeland to resign from the Liberal caucus.

If Chrystia Freeland does resign one would wonder if Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is encouraging her to move on or if this potential resignation could put the Liberal government in jeopardy.

Personally, it seems like Trudeau may be happy to change up the Liberal Party’s bench right now. Making any changes to his cabinet without the resignation being rooted in a scandal allows him to pretend as if the Liberal government is moving in a new direction, while likely just surrounding himself with more Yes men.

Freeland had also recently helped create a scandal with the $2 billion she spent on a non-existent corporation that was allocated to her in Bill C-32, and she was called out for during a Senate exploratory meeting by Conservative Senator Elizabeth Marshall. Freeland choosing to depart now on her own terms allows her and Trudeau to sidestep that $2 billion issue.

Regardless of what happens next, it is telling that mere rumours about Chrystia Freeland’s resignation are creating as much stir as they are. She is a major Liberal Party figure but also had become someone almost as synonymous with the party as Trudeau, and represented the party’s commitment to the values of the World Economic Forum, which Freeland is on the board of.

She belongs in prison for Treason, not NATO.

Let’s not forget her role in the seizure of Canadian bank accounts whose owners made legitimate donations to the freedom convoy. It’s hard to believe that seizure was remotely lawful. Freedom Convoy should have, and perhaps still should, register as a Canadian political party. That way the convoy would simply be a political rally, and political donations supposedly untouchable.

Why NATO would hire her? She is a shaking airhead. Unless NATO is airheads too.

Don’t get it she rose to her level of incompetence years ago. Peter principle squared?

Freeland has for several years now looked like the successor to Trudeau, so IF this RUMOR is true, it indicates a rift within the Liberal party. Perhaps the LPC is beginning to realize that Trudeau’s " sunny ways" has worn thin with voters and his dictatorial mien has aggravated many in the Party.
