Yesterday during Question Period, Independent Member of Parliament for Spadina-Fort York Kevin Vuong went after his former colleagues in the government for their lax stance on Canadians being harassed by the hostile foreign governments of countries used to reside in.
(Kevin Vuong was originally elected as a Liberal MP but was removed from the Liberal caucus by Prime Minister Justin shortly after being elected, due to a nonsensical scandal involving Vuong having charges dropped against him for a crime there was no evidence he committed.)
Vuong called out the government for allowing operatives from Communist China and the regime in Iran to go after former residents for speaking up about the authoritarianism and human rights abuses that go on in those countries. He referred to these foreign actors as “pseudo diplomats and agents” due to their ulterior motives to present themselves as normal diplomatic employees or foreign workers.
Vuong asked if the Liberals were even aware of Article 41.1 of the Vienna Convention which bars diplomatic workers of foreign states from knowingly breaking laws or interfering in the internal affairs of the country they are being hosted in and if the Liberals will act to expel these agents, as any other country would.
He stated leading up to his question:
The actions of Iranian and Chinese operatives in Canada has received a pathetic response from this government. Canada has become a doormat for foriegn interference.
The actions of Iranian+Chinese operatives in 🇨🇦 have received a pathetic response from the govt.
🇨🇦 has become a doormat for foreign actors who:
— Intimidate Canadians
— Infiltrate our businesses
— Interfere in our elxnsDoes the govt understand the concept of #PersonaNonGrata? pic.twitter.com/uVTeCdh8mh

Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino obviously dodged Vuong’s assertion the Canadian government has been weak and countered by falsely claiming that the government is taking “decisive action” to combat the foreign interference.
This isn’t the first time Mendicino has given limp answers to security questions from MP Vuong.
Right now, the Chinese government has become so emboldened by the lack of pushback by the Canadian government that they have started establishing what has been described as overseas police stations.
One video captured in the UK proved the aggressive behaviour of Chinese embassy staff who dragged a Hong Kong protester past a Chinese embassy’s gates and beat him in broad daylight.
The embassy staff dragged the protester into the compound were he is beaten unconscious.
“The most complete video of the beating of Hong Kong people by the Chinese consulate in the UK has been released!
The wolves cannot deny and discredit them!” https://t.co/C0T88TyvsD— Hey, Dave! (@davegreenidge57) October 19, 2022
Last Friday, MP Vuong asked the Canadian government about the overseas police stations, as well as the ongoing harassment of Iranian Canadians by regime agents, and Minister Medicino, like yesterday, provided only empty words about taking the situation seriously.
China is operating pseudo police stations in Canada, infiltrating our businesses, and intimidating Chinese Canadians.
The Iranian regime stalking & intimidating Iranian Canadians.
When is 🇨🇦 going to stop with its do-nothing approach and act to finally stand up for our people? pic.twitter.com/gn03hRMbuS

It should also be noted that despite Mendicino pretending the Canadian government had placed substantive sanctions on the Iran regime’s terror arm, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), they never listed the IRGC as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). Listing the IRGC as an FTO would enable Canadian police to go after those who deal financially with the Iranian regime because the IRGC is a regime asset.
All Trudeau’s Liberals did to the IRGC was effectively ban them under the Immigrant and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) which just puts members of the IRGC on a Canadian travel ban. This action was completely toothless and only prevents Iranian regime agents from laundering money to Canada if an IRGC member attempts to do it in person, which is a highly unlikely scenario.
MP Vuong himself has been rallying with Iranian Canadian groups and calling out the Liberals for their refusal to list the IRGC.
The #IRGC must be listed as terrorists in 🇨🇦 – sanctions aren’t enough.
Today marks:
— over 1,000 days since they shot down #PS752
— 57 days since they killed #MahsaAmini

The National Telegraph reached out to MP Kevin Vuong to ask more about the failures of the Trudeau Liberals on national security and foreign interference.
Vuong responded to TNT stating that:
The Canadian people deserve answers from their government on why it has been so accepting of foreign intervention in our country’s electoral process, business espionage, and the intimidation of citizens of Chinese and Iranian heritage. It is unacceptable and is an affront to our values and freedoms that every citizen has the right to enjoy. The government has an overarching duty to protect our citizens. It must also protect our sovereignty from foreign interference.
Highlighting the recent court decision where the judge concluded the IRGC was a terrorist organization, Vuong continued by saying:
The court ruling on the IRGC as a terrorist organization is a clear example of our legal institutions displaying to the government how inactive and slack it has been in dealing effectively and responsibly with the situation.
This government is making Canada a doormat to foreign operatives, and they are failing to explain the reasons behind their inaction to the Canadian people.
It seems that despite the protests from Conservative MPs and Independents like Kevin Vuong the Liberals feel comfortable letting the problem of harassment of Canadian immigrants by foreign agents continue. It is deeply concerning for the future of Canada that our current government sides with the agents of China and Iran before our own citizens in order to maintain a false sense of stable relations.
All Justin Trudeau and the Liberals are doing by turning a blind eye to the harassment and interference is perpetuating a culture of weakness that is damaging Canada’s position on the world stage.

That Chinese embassy scene in the UK was messy to say the least.
