It’s rather obvious that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was going to lie multiple times during his testimony in front of the Public Order Emergency Commission (POEC) last Friday, but what seems almost more important than Trudeau’s untruth, is his contempt for average Canadians that oozes off of him.
You would think that when testifying at a publicly streamed inquiry over his own controversial use of the Emergencies Act to clear out Freedom Convoy protesters from Ottawa, Trudeau would try and turn down his arrogance, but apparently, he can’t. The entire time Trudeau is either smirking his way through questions or putting on his best Chrystia Freeland impression and talking to Canadians like they just learned the English language.
Trudeau even went so far as to deny he had ever called people who were unvaccinated names while speaking in a patronizingly soft voice.

Of course, many on Twitter reacting to Justin Trudeau’s testimony immediately started flooding the site with #TrudeauLied and reposts of his past comments about unvaccinated Canadians.

One of the most incredible moments from Trudeau’s time in front of the commission was when a lawyer from the CCF (Canadian Constitutional Foundation) cross-examined him and showed him a police planning document from February 13, 2022, which Trudeau’s office had fully redacted every page except the cover and brief description of the situation in Ottawa.
Justin Trudeau told the Commission to read this plan in his earlier testimony. It’s fully redacted.

Trudeau when being shown all the other pages were blacked out began to smirk and the Canadian government’s lawyer objected to Trudeau even being asked by the CCF lawyer to agree to have the pages unredacted.
The only moment that could top that one in the arrogance department was Trudeau claiming that he didn’t need to speak with protest organizers because “We heard them. We knew exactly what they were asking for” despite smearing the motivations of the Freedom Convoy protesters constantly.
Justin Trudeau answers the question on our minds: Why did you not engage with protestors?
“We heard them. We knew exactly what they were asking for. It was clear that it wasn’t just that they want to be heard – they wanted to be obeyed. They wanted us to change public policy.” pic.twitter.com/gkTLP8Xi4P

Also, his contention that it is ok not to speak with protest organizers because “It was clear that it wasn’t just that they want to be heard – they wanted to be obeyed. They wanted us to change public policy,” which is ridiculous seeing as every protester naturally wants some form of change. There aren’t many pro-status quo protesters out there in the world.
In reality, Justin Trudeau has had his government meet with protesters in the past, including the anti-oil protesters who blocked roads and train tracks all over Canada for almost an entire month. Apparently, the change in public policy those eco-protesters wanted was not as radical as Canadian truckers not wanting to be prevented from working for not being vaccinated.
Trudeau knows his hypocrisy won’t be highlighted by the legacy media, so throughout his entire time in front of the POEC, he created convoluted excuses for obviously not meeting the thresholds to invoke the Emergencies Act while just casually brushing aside questions that poke holes in his narrative that there was a crisis situation in Ottawa.
Justin Trudeau notes "commercial tow truck drivers were not willing to come in and remove trucks."
"Well, the Emergencies Act perhaps could compel tow truck drivers to come and fulfill their contracts."

The liar & tyrant @JustinTrudeau redacted – on the basis of “relevance”! – the fact that Americans had promised to provide tow truck, while arguing the absence of tow trucks as the basis for the Emergencies Act invocation. This alone should be the basis of compelled resignation! pic.twitter.com/iG0sqnmvSw

It goes to show that while Justin Trudeau knows there is a safety net beneath him; in this case, Trudeau likely realizes the POEC report won’t dare slam his government, he treats the process and the people he has wronged with obvious contempt. He will lie straight to Canadians’ faces and can only muster a smirk when called out for playing political games with people’s liberties.
