Tamara Lich has been granted bail, but the entire process was a mockery of what the judicial system should be. She spent over two weeks in jail for allegedly “counseling to commit mischief,” an incredibly minor offense which basically is coded language for “arranging a protest”.
The protest in question was peaceful for three straight weeks, caused no damage to the city, and brought booming business to all the businesses that stayed open during the convoy.
It should also be noted that a judge did rule the protest a legal expression of political speech at the original injunction hearing, even though he did say that trucker air horns were a public nuisance.
Despite this, Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act and violently cleared out peaceful protestors. As well as arresting Convoy organizers Chris Barber and Tamara Lich on trumped-up charges. The EA did not grant the state the power to bypass Canada’s Charter right, yet they did. The EA did not prohibit Canadians to come to Ottawa for peaceful demonstrations, yet they were.
A lot of Canadians who followed the developments of the Freedom convoy are left wondering “how did Trudeau get away with this?”
The answer seems to be in the fact that the Liberals have full institutional control. After they bought all the legacy media outlets with their near billion dollars worth of “bailouts” they could be reasonably sure that a large segment of the Canadian population would never be exposed to the truth.
The much scarier aspect of this entire situation is that the court system disproportionally favours those with power and resources to abuse it. In this case, Tamara Lich was originally dealt with a judge with strong ties to both Justin Trudeau and the Liberal party. It is likely that Justice Julie Bourgeois felt that she did not need to recuse herself and had the liberty to partake in political activism from the bench since she could be reasonably confident that there would be zero repercussions since she sided with the Liberal establishment.
Unfortunately, the judge who overturned this horrible decision still showed elements of political bias within the system by getting the simple facts of the case wrong. The judge claimed that roads were blocked. As someone who was on the ground covering the convoy I can say that the Truckers did not block a single road, there was always at least one lane open. The only blocked roads were done by the police.
The judge also mentioned that businesses were closed. This is only partially true. Businesses that remained open during the convoy did incredible business, it was the city of Ottawa and politicians that tried to close the businesses as a political tool to attack the Freedom Convoy.
“The analysis at this stage should include some assessment of the aggravating factors. It appears strong that the accused continued to counsel this after the states of emergency were in effect.” Judge also cites the honking and closures of stores and unruly behaviour.

It is simple things like this that might add up and destroy the life of an innocent woman like Tamara Lich.
However, even if Tamara beats all the charges against her this is still a travesty of justice and an abuse of the court process. This is the Canadian government engaging in lawfare, where the process is the punishment. If Tamara is cleared of all charges she still has to spend probably over a year dealing with the legal harassment from the crown, character assassination from the media, and all the things that come with it.
She is even under a gag order which will prevent her from drawing attention to the vindictive nature of her attackers which will again benefit her abusers.
Freedom of speech and the right to protest is key for any Liberal democracy, it is a shame that these very freedoms do not apply to those who dissent from the views of the political establishment.

"Freedom of speech and the right to protest is key for any Liberal democracy," you are wrong, freedom of speech is a key for DEMOCRACY and NOT liberal democracy. Liberal democracy is an oxymoron. And "..it is a shame that these very freedoms do not apply to those who dissent from the views of the political establishment." This is communism in its purest form. We are living in Orwellian world. You got what you vote for.
This latest issue with obvious judicial corruption, imo, is not ‘new’ at all but rather ignored by every entrenched political party.
Traditional Canadians and their values have been targeted for decades by Liberal party operatives operating under colour of Law to deny, abuse, torture, injure and kill.
