Justin Trudeau Doesn’t Want Canadians Gathering To Celebrate The New Year

Written By Wyatt Claypool, Posted on December 31, 2021

Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in a late-night tweet told Canadians to not have large gatherings for New Year’s celebrations because of the spread of COVID-19 variants.

Trudeau highlights “safety” as the reason why Canadians should deny themselves a good time on New Year’s despite the large spike in cases due to the omicron variant not resulting in an equivalent spike in deaths. On the contrary, the death rate is at one of the lowest points it has been since March 2020.

Of course, what Trudeau is asking of Canadians is not only ridiculous but also completely hypocritical since he is the same guy that palled around with world leaders and diplomats at the G7 Conference in the summer, and then again during the United Nations COP26 climate conference in Glasgow.

Trudeau’s own actions should really demonstrate to Canadians that placing restrictions on themselves and refusing to gather with friends and family is completely unnecessary seeing as someone as important as the country’s Prime Minister doesn’t feel like he is in great danger by gathering in large groups with others.

If Trudeau thought there was some great danger lurking out there waiting to strike if Canadians dare to have a good time on New Year he wouldn’t just simply put out a tweet. Most Canadians seem to recognize that there is no serious risk of gathering to celebrate New Year’s but it is quite disheartening to see the number of Canadians responding to Trudeau’s tweets still in a state of panic over COVID.

The response to Trudeau’s nanny-state tweet is a graveyard of critical thinking. So many liberal Canadians are unable to read publicly available COVID-19 stats and do a proper personal risk assessment, and instead want the government to oppress them and others in the name of “safety.”

Omicron is equivalent to a mild cold or flu, yet so many people want to stay in lockdown mode seemingly for yet another year as if they think it adds some needed spice to their life to always be in a panic over a pandemic that has already effectively ended several months ago.

Well, liberal Canadians can have fun watching Netflix inside of their sanitized bubbles; freedom-loving Canadians will be making the rational choice this New Year’s to live their lives normally and have a good time celebrating with friends and families.

Too bad, most Canadians are dumbfucks to realise this. Most Canadians are suckers for the nanny state. Time for Canadians to collectively realise and say, "Don’t pee on mi leg and tell me it’s raining!"
