COVID-19 has forever changed the way everyone lives since its first emergence in December 2019. Since then, more than 1 million people have died from the virus, which not only halted the global economies but also has forced governments around the world to make drastic measures in dealing with the pandemic.
In Canada, the Liberal Federal Government is now conducting a feasibility study on creating COVID isolation sites, which third party contractors will eventually bid on for government contracts.
Although specifics of when and how Canadian isolation sites will come into operation, the mere thought of creating isolation sites for COVID infected Canadians is a cause of concern for some. The government claims that they will be used to isolate travellers who have returned with no other quarantine options, but there is still some ambiguity over who will be sent there.
Furthermore, according to obtained documents, the Canadian Federal Government is also planning to increase its riot gear stockpile. Although possibly unrelated, the Federal government increasing its riot gear should be another cause for concern because there will definitely be public demonstrations in opposition to the government’s eventual mandate to send Canadians to isolation sites.
It should be noted that the Canadian military does use tear gas for training of their soldiers to acclimate them to the effects of extremely harsh conditions.
Despite isolation site proposals, the more salient question becomes: do Canadians really want the Liberal Federal Government to proceed with its plan to make sites where Canadians will possibly be forced to stay against their will?
For people from a conservative perspective, there is concern about how citizens and the media have allowed their government to take away fundamental freedoms to combat the pandemic. Leading to the worry that these Isolation sites are just another step down the road towards a potential police state.
One thing that certainly legitimizes the fears of Canadians is the current pathology of Justin Trudeau and his Liberal government, which has not shown the greatest respect for the rule of law and his political opponents. He and his cabinet constantly, and inaccurately, label his detractors as racists and morally deficient. That in combination with his desire to rule with centralized power like in the SNC-Lavalin scandal should raise some major red flags with this new isolation site program.

This is alarming. Why not put the money for this project towards our hospitals instead?
It’s CS gas not riot gear and used by the army to simulate NBC conditions in training troops to use their NBC gear. It is harmless to the troops but requires them to take precautions as if it were a harmful agent or they get irritated skin and puke. We go through about 8,000 units a year and restock every three or four years. Honestly, it’s getting embarassing to be a right winger with this nutter stuff being published. Check sources, ask questions, research and publish facts. You guy are becoming main stream.media.
Are you sure he isn’t setting these places up to quarantine migrants he intends to bring into the country ?
