Mount Royal MP Anthony Housefather seems to have inherited Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s ability to have the legacy media not properly cover scandals associated with him, as he recently got away with saying black SCOTUS judge Clarence Thomas wants antebellum slavery back.
The only bright side of the majority decision overruling Roe is that they seem to only want to bring the country back 50 years. Justice Thomas’s concurring opinion seems to want to bring the US back to pre Civil War times.

Several conservative independent media organizations like The Western Standard, True North Media, and of course The National Telegraph reported on what Housefather said, and or the subsequent response Conservative MP Dr. Leslyn Lewis made, but no legacy media took any interest.
When the left can’t manipulate and control black people like Justice Thomas, they adopt racist tropes and suggest that independent minded blacks want to go back to the days when slavery was legal. It’s disappointing to see an MP like @ahousefather stoop to this level. https://t.co/lDn4dLXpPT

Clearly, if a Conservative MP had accused a black judge, who had a more liberal interpretation of the American constitution or Canadian Charter, of wanting to see chattel slavery return, they would be rightfully called out for their racist comments.
Because of legacy media ignored the story, Housefather not only got away with his initial comment, which Dr. Lewis rightfully called out as playing on racial tropes, but he was even able to double down in his response to Dr. Lewis on Twitter.
Justice Thomas wants to reverse the entire line of cases relying on substantive due process, leading to the end of Obergefell (gay marriage), Lawrence (barring states from making sex between consenting adults illegal) & Griswold (right to birth control). He deserves the criticism

You needed three hours to work with PMO to come up with this? FYI, the Civil War was well before the 1965 Griswold decision. Your intent was clear: you invoked a racist trope to fear monger. Just own it.

I am not going to sink to this level. Substantive due process is grounded in the 14th amendment which was passed by Congress in 1866 and ratified in 1868 right after the civil war. If you wish to debate US constitutional history with me I am pleased to have the debate.

Housefather’s argument essentially boils down to the idea that he can borderline call Clarence Thomas, or any other conservative black judge, an ‘Uncle Tom’ and its completely above board because he disagrees with his view that the 14th amendment (right to privacy) makes abortion up to “viability” legal across the entire United States.
It raises the question of what Housefather would actually believe to be offensive to say to a black person he disagrees with on the issue of abortion? Apparently accusing a black judge of being an ‘Uncle Tom’ who wants other black people suffering is something within bounds for Housefather.
Housefather dodges Dr. Lewis’ clear strike at him for saying it seems like Thomas wants slavery back, because he knows what he said was gross, but also knows he does not have to apologize cause there is a 0 percent chance the CBC, Global News, or CTV news will report on what he said.
Even when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had to apologize for wearing blackface more times than he could count the legacy media immediately pushed the scandal aside as something that had been resolved, despite members of the media demanding Conservative MPs resign for far less.
The National Telegraph reached out to Anthony Housfather’s constituency office which said that they would not be responding to our questions about Housefather’s conduct.
Jack Fonseca, a director at the Campaign Life Coalition (CLC), a pro-life advocacy organization, spoke to The National Telegraph, and said about the Housefather situation:
Liberals always expose what’s in their own hearts by what they accuse conservatives of doing. For example, when in 2013 Justin Trudeau openly admired China’s ‘basic dictatorship’, he tried to disguise his aspirations by saying it was Stephen Harper who ‘must dream about’ having that kind of power of power. Fast forward to 2022 and we’ve witnessed Trudeau turning Canada into a police state, shutting down peaceful protests for opposing his policies, and seizing citizens bank accounts.
It’s the same thing with Housefather’s drive-by smear against Clarence Thomas, in protest of the Supreme Court ruling which struck down the federal status quo of abortion-on-demand. By insinuating that Clarence Thomas wants to return blacks to pre-civil war slavery, just because the justice overturned a pro-abortion ruling, Housefather was revealing the anti-black racism in his own heart.
Fonseca pointed out another angle to this story many people are overlooking, that being the anti-black origins of the pro-abortion movement.
Fonseca added that:
It’s a historical fact that Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider, was founded by a racist, pro-Nazi eugenicist, Margaret Sanger, who viewed blacks as undesirables and used abortion as a tool to reduce black populations. Still today, Planned Parenthood concentrates its abortion facilities in black communities, targeting African-American babies. Heck, they’ve even been caught accepting donations specifically to abort black babies! By aligning himself with abortion, a tool of anti-black eugenicists, Housefather has aligned himself with racism. And now we know who he really is, and why he attacked the only black judge on the Supreme Court.
An additional ironic thing about Housefather’s refusal to apologize is that as a Jewish man he rightfully has condemned the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel as being anti-semitic. This movement often attacks pro-Israeli Jews as people who are supporting a “Holocaust” against Palestinians, which is not only a complete fabrication of the issue between Israel and Palestine/Gaza but also a gross anti-semitic trope.
Accusing any group of people of being in favour of the past suffering of their own people or falsely accusing them of wanting to inflict the same suffering on others is incredibly bigoted, yet Anthony Housefather did it to Clarence Thomas because he knows the legacy media will never hold him to account.
