Leftists Ridicule President Trump After Contracting COVID-19

President of the United States Donald Trump’s Twitter account has confirmed that him and Melania Trump have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. 

The Trumps were tested for the virus after one of the president’s close advisors Hope Hicks. She had traveled with the Trumps on Air Force One  to the first presidential debate against Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in Ohio.

Many members of the left have celebrated the news of President Trump contracting COVID-19 as some moral victory, as if it was ever moral to hope for the death of a duly-elected public figure. 

Some of those on the left have attempted to justify their glee seeing bad things happen to Trump by pushing the absolute conspiracy theory that deaths due to COVID-19 in America are his fault.

This is ignoring the fact that Trump stopped flights from China and closed the borders at a time when high ranking Democratic politicians like House majority leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer were calling Trump xenophobic.

Far-left isolationist political commentator Max Blumenthal even replied to Trump’s original tweet about testing positive for COVID-19 with a photo of Qasem Soleimani, implying Trump getting the virus is somehow deserved for having approved the killing of the terroristic Quds Force’s leader.

If anyone’s policy was to be blamed for causing deaths it should be Governor Andrew Cuomo who’s policy for dealing with people who tested positive for COVID-19 was to send them to nursing homes with the most vulnerable people to the virus.

Even Cuomo should not be flatly blamed for deaths in New York, but in comparison the fact that Trump despite closing the borders and shutting down flights before his opposition is being blamed for pandemic deaths is nonsensical.

Trump testing positive for COVID-19 has exposed a major hypocrisy on the political left. Those who are constantly harping on Trump for being “unpresidential,” rude, or uncaring are out in force demonstrating they are exactly what they accuse Trump of being. 

Many on the political left have also come out against those chortling about Trump contracting the virus, and they should be commended. Nobody should be hoping their political opponents should fall into bad health or even die in a healthy democracy, politics is already ugly enough without that, those who wish to degrade our politics to this level are not worth hearing from.
