O’Toole’s National Field Director: “Wait till we destroy [Karahalios’] entire life for going after Walied.”

Written By Wyatt Claypool, Posted on April 5, 2020

The National Telegraph has obtained the application record filed by Dimitrios “Jim” Karahalios against the Conservative party.

Jim Karahalios’ disqualification is alleged to have been centred on a March 9th email that the party’s Dispute Resolution Appeals Committee (DRAC) has not confirmed or denied. However, the Leadership Election Organizing Committee (LEOC) launched an investigation into the contents of a letter in the email.

In a letter sent to his supporters, he was highly critical of Erin O’Toole’s Campaign Chair, Walied Soliman. Karahalios criticized Soliman for his 2007 op-ed in the Globe and Mail in support for Sharia financing, the allegations of vote fixing in the Ontario Conservative party and Walied Soliman’s support for the Carbon Tax, which Karahalios alleges that he was the driving force behind.

In retaliation to this email, the O’Toole team filed a complaint with the LEOC, which resulted in the disqualification of Karahalios’s campaign.

The most shocking part of this document, though, is that Karahalios was able to produce a screenshot of Erin O’Toole’s National Field Director, David Parker, saying that they will “destroy his entire life for going after Walied.”

There are two major points of concern from this conversation. First, this statement implies future retaliation to Karahalios outside of politics, from people within the O’Toole campaign.

Second, David Parker is not a minor figure inside the O’Toole campaign. He is the National Field Director and would presumably be privy to insider knowledge. Further clarification is needed as to what he meant by “we.”

The National Telegraph reached out to Parker about these text messages, to which he replied that “they looked photo-shopped.” However, another source was able to validate the authenticity of these messages.

This is some mean stuff going on here. Why do they hate Jim so much?

….because Karahalios isn’t a red tory like O’Toole ‘The Tool’ and Peter MacKay. The national executive of the CPC are all crooked red tories pandering to a demographic they will never get to vote for them in the first place. As someone who’s been involved with the CPC for years, I’ve seen all the corruption that’s crept in after the 2015 election. Soliman is another red tory who was behind Patrick Brown in the Ontario PC Party. These people are in the wrong party sowing discord and confusion and should all be booted out!

What happened to grass roots democracy? Liberals are just as bad shutting down grass roots candidates at the riding level. Provincially as well. Each political party riding should be able to elect whoever they want to represent them . Not be told by the party execs who is it suitable to even run in each riding. Karahalios situation same problem at a higher level. Let’s get back to true democracy in Canada.

“We’re not going to take it anymore!”

Can the candidates choose who get voted in? Is it not the people’s choice? If the others are jealous about Jim Karahalios, that means to me the others are not good candidates, and why did Karahalios had his money in first and the signatures? Those that not say a lot? That people are sooner would go for Karahalios then they other’s. Are they fair in this situation?

Political parties are like UNIONs – they don’t really believe in democracy.

Well I guess O’Toole just got dropped as my second vote for the Conservative leadership
