Canada’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Theresa Tam has become well known for being one of the biggest proponents of vaccine mandates, and lockdowns in the country, and yet despite her tunnel vision on public health she was given a 22 percent pay raise.
The fact her pay was increased by such a large amount feels like she was paid for her propaganda value and not the actual value of her advice, seeing as her advice had no value.
Nobody can argue that she was giving Canadians the best most up-to-date public health advice seeing as she was still pushing lockdowns while American states were reopening, and keeping in place only public health policies that were actually effective and did not unduly violate people’s individual freedoms, and they did absolutely fine.
Even now, Dr. Tam is helping the Justin Trudeau Liberal government promote booster shots, while at the same time the government is removing the mandates for domestic travel and for federally-regulated workers.
Reading Dr. Theresa Tam’s Twitter feed now feels like being stuck in March of 2020. Still fearmongering about the spread of COVID-19, as the vast majority of Canadians go about living their lives, rightfully not caring whether or not a public health bureaucrat would sign off on their choice of activities.
3/3 Summer months afford more opportunities for lower risk activities, but maintaining readiness with awareness of local disease activity and keeping up good habits helps prevent infections to keep transmission levels lower for longer: https://t.co/JBlzhQoILR pic.twitter.com/XcqKfgUIgI

It all goes to show that the Chief Medical Officers job on both the federal as well as provincial-level has become a government marketing job. They consistently cherry-pick information that backs up the government’s chosen public health policy, and either ignore or deny the effectiveness of any alternatives.
Evidentially if they are good at sticking to the government-approved script they get paid more.
Dr. Tam will now be making $324,000 per year, and her contract has been extended for another three years.

Hey whatever, it’s just other people’s money right Justin? Shouldn’t she be subject to a review of her performance first?
She… heh.
