Justin Trudeau was Completely Unprepared for the Pushback he is Receiving

Written By Wyatt Claypool, Posted on August 21, 2021

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau seemed to think when he dropped the writ for the snap election last Sunday that he was going to have a comfortable path to getting back the majority denied to him in 2019.

Since starting the campaign though, Trudeau and the Liberal Party have received aggressive pushback from the general public, likely due to both distaste of the way the Liberals have been governing, combined by the general sentiment that this election was unnecessary.

Trudeau has been heckled and met with disappointing-sized crowds of his own supporters at multiple events around the country, while still somehow managing to alienate even more people through viral clips of downright authoritarian things he says at those lightly-attended events.

Only about 80 people attended the Calgary event that the above clip of Trudeau is from. People stood in socially distanced chalk bubbles on the ground despite Alberta having no more gathering restrictions.

Whenever Trudeau has gotten heckled while campaigning you can tell he is incredibly uncomfortable and rushes to get out of the situation, as if he is emotionally wounded by the realization that people truly cannot stand him as their prime minister.

The polling in the aftermath of the Liberals’ terrible first week of campaigning has actually tightened to the point that the Conservatives, despite being led by the perpetually unpopular Erin O’Toole, are usually only down by about 1 percent in most polls over the past three days.

It has gotten so bad for the Liberals that on Saturday Trudeau is in Ottawa and has nothing on the itinerary for the entire day. This has made some speculate whether or not the Liberals are having to go into emergency meetings to figure out how they can dig themselves out of the increasingly deepening political hole created by this election.

Trudeau has proven that he doesn’t seem to understand the Canadian populace after having not had to deal with people in normal ways throughout 2020 and 2021.

Just like in Nova Scotia with the provincial Liberals, federally the Liberals may have been duped into thinking that their good polls before Trudeau dropped the writ would hold when it was likely that people just liked the political stability over the past year and a half which having an election completely undermines.

It may be good for the Liberal base that seems to idolize Justin Trudeau to see him in an uncomfortable political position like this and realize he isn’t the political wizard that the legacy government-funded media pretends he is.

From within his myopic bubble of self indulgence he superimposes his religion of woke zealot want over objective reality…
Of course he appears bewildered by the response he’s receiving. He genuinely is.

Trudeau just doesn’t understand why Canadians aren’t accepting what he says and does. He doesn’t realize that his life of pampering and indulgence is over.
