Twitter Set To Accept Elon Musk’s Offer

Word has come out from a source inside twitter that their board is meeting today and prepared to accept Elon Musk’s offer to buy the company for $43 billion or $54.20 per share.

Musk, the world richest man, had openly talked about the problems with twitter becoming a restrictive platform and its need to be more inline with free speech principles. The catalyst seems to be the removal of the satire site the BabylonBee when they awarded Admiral Rachel Levine “man of the year”, instead of “woman of the year” as USA Today did. Levine is a biological male who identifies as a woman.

Twitter currently has a very strict misgendering policy, but still has terrorist organizations and dictators openly active on their platform. The Ayatollah Khamenei can threaten to nuke the world or run his Holocaust denial cartoon competition or Hamas can advocate for genocide of all the Jewish people and remain active, but if you were to call a man “him” if he thinks he is a woman than you lose your access to twitter.

Twitter had become the defacto public forum and examples like that are probably why Elon Musk felt the need to step in and save the platform.

The after effects of an Elon Musk take over will be interesting. Will Donald Trump return? Will all the people saying they are going to leave if Musk gained control do so? How long will all the alternative platforms like Parler, Gab and Getter survive? Will there be proof of algorithmic manipulation in favour of the cultural Left?

Whatever happens it promises to be an entertaining few weeks as the situation with Twitter sorts itself out.
