Conservative Leadership Candidate Pierre Poilievre Is Pro-Bitcoin

One of the main issues that the next Canadian Conservative Party Leader must address is the dire financial situation and the alarming and frankly suicidal spending policies of the Trudeau Liberals. Let’s be clear that the Justin Trudeau Liberals are in a league of their own on the spending issue. Even the last Liberal government from the Chrétien-Martin era, must be acknowledged, targeted, and achieved economic goals successfully.

There’s simply no way for Canada to recover on any level economically without getting rid of Trudeau, the Conservative Party of Canada is the party with the best shot at doing just that.

The Conservative Party is just now entering a leadership race, and current frontrunner, Pierre Poilievre, just made headlines painting himself as a pro-bitcoin candidate.

The Conservative Party is just now entering a leadership race, and current frontrunner, Pierre Poilievre, just made headlines painting himself as a pro-bitcoin candidate.

On Monday, Mar. 28, 2022, Poilievre bought lunch at Tahinis Shawarma Restaurants in London, Ontario, an event not otherwise significant except that Poilievre paid for lunch in Bitcoin, which currency Tahinis offers payment solutions in, and has since mid-2020.

In a video clip recently making the rounds on Twitter, Poilievre attempted to let the Tahinis’ owner get part of his story out during a Pre-Budget Consultation video hearing for 2022, which video you can check out here, and I recommend.

Poilievre clearly wants to highlight Tahinis Restaurants as a test-case success story for Canadian businesses using Bitcoin, and it’s clear he has confidence in the technology as he is on record as saying:

“Government is ruining the Canadian dollar, so Canadians should have the freedom to use other money, such as bitcoin.”

With the Canadian economy in such dire straits due to Trudeau and the Liberals, this issue alone: being pro-Bitcoin and it being clear Poilievre understands the technology and economics, should be enough for Poilievre to carry the election.

On other issues as well, such as eliminating the economically suicidal Carbon Tax regime, Poilievre is a strong candidate, but the main thing to understand and underline is that Poilievre is pro-Bitcoin.

Bitcoin represents one of the greatest economic innovations of all time, and so for me, this next election really is only single issue. Any political candidate antagonistic to Bitcoin should be tossed out, and so whatever other criticisms you may want to level at Poilievre, he’s at least clearly not going to stand in the way of this innovation.
