Public Saftey Minister Marco Mendicino’s Must Resign For His Endless Emergencies Act Lies

Of course, conservative-minded Canadians will never be against a cabinet minister from the Liberal government resigning, but in the case of Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino even Liberal Party members should want him gone.

Even if a more liberal Canadian agreed with the ideological views of Mendicino, there is no coming back from the fact that as Public Safety Minister during and after the invocation of the Emergencies Act, he has been nothing but a bad liar.

Back when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Deputy Prime Minister / Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland announced the invocation of the Emergencies Act, both Trudeau, and Mendicino both firmly stated that they had done it under the advice of the police (OPP, Ottawa Police, and RCMP).

Recently Carlton MP Pierre Poilievre posted a compilation video showing first Mendicino claiming multiple times the government invoked the Emergencies Act under the guidance of the police before showing multiple police officials stating on the record that they had said no such thing.

That may be the most egregious repeated lie, but Mendicino has been frequently pushing other hoaxes in an attempt to try and convince the Canadian people that the use of the Emergencies Act was not a big power-grab.

Mendocino famously even pushed the Ottawa arson hoax after the story of supposed “trucker convoy supporters” trying to burn down an apartment building was debunked by Ottawa police.

It is telling that currently, despite Conservative MPs wanting to continue investigating the use of the Emergencies Act, Mendocino, Trudeau, and the rest of the Liberal Party is trying to change the news cycle by pushing their handgun ban in Bill C-21. They nonsensically are using the deaths of children in Texas to disarm Canadians while eliminating mandatory minimums for the criminals who commit the majority of violent crime in Canada.

Marco Mendicino is acting like he knows he is trying to escape a scandal, and the fact he cannot reconcile the lies he has told and is avoiding accountability should guarantee his resignation.

Of course Justin Trudeau has also lied throughout the course of the Freedom Convoy protest in Ottawa, but like with Bill Morneau, when Trudeau messes up at the very least we can expect a cabinet minister to exit the government.

If nobody within the Liberal Party faces some sort of punishment for the endless stream of lies the credibility of Canada’s government overall will severely suffer, yet sadly that is what is most likely to happen.

It could even help Trudeau and the Liberals if more Canadians become disillusioned with their government.
