Despite reasonable concerns regarding the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine coming from the medical community Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is pushing Canadians to take the first vaccine offered to them.
In his Tuesday press conference, Trudeau said that “The bottom line for Canadians is the right vaccine for you to take is the very first vaccine that you are offered.”
Trudeau also said, “The more we get Canadians vaccinated, quickly and safely, the quicker we’ll be able to get back to a semblance of normality,” which overlooks the fact that the federal and provincial governments are still requiring mask-wearing even for those who have had both doses of a vaccine.
This is in the context of the AstraZeneca vaccine distribution being paused for those under the age of 55 in Canada due to small proportions of recipients in Germany developing blood clots, and some even dying as a result.
It would seem rather foolish at this time for Trudeau, after failing to negotiate for supplies of vaccines months earlier, to now be reversing his overly slow pace and now encouraging people to take whatever vaccine is offered to them in spite of what medical experts have said.
Of course, the mainstream media is here to downplay the dangers of the AstraZeneca vaccine, CTV News quoted Dr. Rodney Russell a professor of virology and immunology from Memorial University in Newfoundland saying that “The odds of dying in a car crash are one in 100, to put that in perspective,” in response to 1 in 100,000 people reporting to have developed blood clots after getting the vaccine in Germany.
Dr. Russel seems to miss the point seeing as not only is there likely more people who developed blood clots but did not report it but seeing as those under the age of 60 have a near-zero chance of dying from COVID-19 or a variant, even a 1 in 100,000 chance at developing blood clots dangerous enough to seek medical attention for is worth putting a pause on vaccine distribution for. Car accident deaths are not at all comparable to the current risk differences between COVID-19 and the vaccines for younger people.
It’s rather odd how in spite of COVID-19 having an extremely low-risk level for young people, the government has put in place health measures to make young healthy people behave as if the virus is dangerous to them, but when AstraZeneca vaccines have been shown to have a small risk for younger people now it becomes no big deal and you are supposed to get the vaccine and stop focusing on small amounts of risk.
The government has no right to be confused why so many Canadians are getting sick and tired of all the lockdown restrictions and vaccine rollout when the government has been moving the goalposts on every issue surrounding the pandemic and then pretending as if skeptical members of the public are always the problem.

So why now are we trying to eliminate something that has almost the same death rate as the common cold. I’d like to know why our government is pushing so hard. Everything I read and see is just pointing to a bigger agenda. Please just say yes they is or no there isn’t, and don’t liberal up the answer (side step or give along answer that means nothing to any normal person) just answer the question being asked.
