The Conservatives Are Pandering to the Woke-Left by Rejecting Rebel News

After O’Toole’s office took on an interview with Rebel News on the leader’s behalf, it said it would no longer respond to the media outlet and O’Toole would not take any interviews with them. 

The interview was published on Monday and labeled as an “exclusive interview with Erin O’Toole”. The interview was in a Q&A style and the answers were attributed to Erin O’Toole. Afterward, hit-pieces in left-wing media arose, criticizing O’Toole’s office for associating with Rebel. 

This isn’t the first time conservative leadership refused to associate with Rebel News. Former CPC leader Andrew Sheer also refused to give them interviews. The one aspect that must be a real kick in the teeth for the Rebel News team must be how Erin O’Toole acknowledged their importance during the CPC leadership in order to differentiate himself from Peter MacKay, but now that he is the CPC leader he thinks he is clearly ‘too good’ for the Rebel now.

The decision comes likely due to fear that the CBC, or other left-wing media, and his political opponents would accuse O’Toole of racism, sexism, and white supremacy, if he gave Rebel News an interview, as the Left in Canada, has continually smeared the news outlet as being guilty of such. 

Now obviously Rebel News is just another victim of leftist character assassination. Ezra Levant who runs Rebel News is Jewish, and the company with its multi-ethnic workforce has women in prominent positions of power. 

The main tactics of left-wing politicians in Canada have been character assassination, via accusations of racism and other bigotry, for decades. They cannot argue in good faith or with intellectual honesty, the actual positions of conservatives in Canada. Conservative voters know this, hence why they remain conservative. 

Whoever the party leader becomes, like clockwork the narratives against the CPC become the same. The Liberals and NDP target the leader and twist anything he does or says to make him appear racist/sexist/homophobic/etc. Rebel News has been a target for this as well. It is a coward’s move and not a team-player characteristic to throw them under the bus to avoid being hit by the same weapon yourself. 

No matter what, the left will and has been smearing Erin O’Toole as bigoted. He will and has bent over backward to pander to those narratives. Where did that get Andrew Sheer? 

Rebel News represents conservative voters that have become increasingly alienated from the CPC due to their submission to left-wing manipulation and abuse. Along with the PPC. If both Social Conservatives and Libertarian-Conservatives no longer have a place in the party, What does it mean to be a Conservative? This is the question conservatives in Canada need to ask themselves and their party. 

If Rebel News cannot be worked with from the perspective of the CPC then which other conservative publications will begin to not be able to get an interview, True North, The Western Standard, The National Telegraph, or The Epoch Times?

Erin O’Toole has decided to constantly play in the defensive, and his refusal to have a normal interview with an alternative news outlet sends the message that he isn’t resistant to left-wing mainstream media, and won’t respect alternative news sources. This will greatly contribute to his loss in the coming election.

While card-carrying conservatives know that it’s important to vote CPC no matter what, even if it just means slowing down the left, Erin needs to unite conservatives, and show nonpartisan voters that he represents alternative to woke left insanity.
