Earlier this week, it was announced that China would be joining the ranks of the UN’s Human Rights Council panel. This panel will help select “independent monitors” on free speech, arbitrary detentions, enforced disappearance and health.
It should be mentioned that China currently has millions of Uyghur Muslims and concentration camps, and China’s authoritarian government lied and blundered its way into causing a global pandemic.
“Madam Chair, I wish to list 5 of the world’s worst violators of religious freedom:
🇨🇳 China
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia
🇵🇰 Pakistan
🇳🇬 Nigeria
🇪🇷 Eritrea“I now list 5 members who sit here on this U.N. Human Rights Council:

Sadly, this is not even anywhere close to the obscene decision made by the UN. Most UN committees could be aptly described as the inmates running the asylum. For example, last year, the Islamic Republic of Iran was put on the UN’s Women’s Rights Committee.
This happened right after Iran sentenced Nasrin Sotoudeh, a human rights lawyer, to 38 years in prison and 148 lashes. Her “crime” was being found guilty of defending other women in Iran from claims of immorality for removing their hijabs, or failure to wear their hijabs properly. Both of those are also crimes under the Islamic Republic.
The de-facto global leader for human rights has become a ridiculous self-parody. It is tasked with upholding their five primary reasons: 1) Right to equality 2) Freedom from discrimination, 3) Right to life, liberty and personal security 4) Freedom from slavery 5) Freedom from torture and degrading treatment.
It can be argued that all of these are violated in China’s state-run concentration camps for Muslims.
However, it is still unclear if China is using the Uyghur for slave labour. In that case, I will point out that there are only two countries in the world with active slave markets, Libya and Mauritania. Both of which are on the UN human rights council.
With our Prime Minister dead set on UN appeasement in hopes of gaining a UN Security Council seat, that is not a good look for Canada.
This is living proof that trusting the UN to arbitrate any aspect of Canadian life, whether it deals with human rights, the environment or immigration is a dangerous game. Not only is the UN biased and nonsensical, but it is also immoral.
