Calgary NDP Candidate Thinks Alberta Is Racist – While Quoting Communists And Anti-Semites

The Alberta NDP candidate for Calgary-East Rosman Valencia is one of many NDP candidates who pitch themselves as being hyper “progressive” and a person to bring Albertans together. Although Valencia may want to see himself this way, his rhetoric, fringe beliefs, and the radical people he quotes do not indicate he will be an uniter in this province. 

Race and “Anti-Racism”

Starting off, Rosman Valencia constantly seems to think and talk about race. He is absolutely obsessed with race and calls institutions and society “racist” and or “colonialist”.

Being a leftist activist and an elementary school teacher, Valencia spoke on a panel at the University of Calgary about “decolonizing language arts,” where he specifically talked about “decolonizing music education.”

He has taken part in several protests to “unite against racism” the implication of the protests obviously being that Alberta and possibly Canada as a whole are significantly racist. Whether someone like Valencia justifies his activism by saying he is against “institutional” or “systemic” racism, the clear implication he is making is that those who don’t think Alberta is a racist place are part of the problem.

When promoting one event Valencia even shared a quote from radical race-baiter and socialist author Ibram X Kendi stating that those who are not on board with the activist mob attacking every institution as being racist are part of trying to “mask for racism.” 

Valencia himself at one point on Twitter said “systemic racism and discrimination which are rooted in the structure of society itself, in governments, the workplace, courts, police and education institutions.” He is talking about Alberta’s Institutions and Alberta society. This man seriously sees Alberta as being filled with racism, which is absolutely a disgusting smear against the province. 

By the way, a partner of this particular event was Justice For Palestinians, an anti-semitic group that promotes the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, and pushes anti-semitic conspiracies about Israel and Jews (often referred to “Zionists”) committing “genocide” against Palestinians.

During a 2014 protest organized by Justice For Palestinians Jewish counter protesters were beaten and one of the JFP organizers even later gloated on Facebook about it despite making a limp apology for the violence. 

Angela Davis

Going back to Rosman Valencia, to put the nail in the coffin of whether he sees Alberta as a racist place or not, he posted on March 22, 2022, on his campaign Twitter account, a quote from infamous communist activist Angela Davis, “In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist. We must be anti-racist.” over a photo of a protest he attended. 

Valencia is overtly stating with that quote in the context of the protest he attended that Alberta is a “racist society” and those who do not join in his left-wing “anti-racist” efforts are part of the problem.  

It should also be mentioned that although Angela Davis is a socialist darling these days she also is linked to a mass shooting in the United States back in the 1970s while part of the communist Black Panther Party. She purchased several firearms for five young Black Panther Party members the day before they shot up the Marin County courthouse in California. Davis would later go on to praise the “spirit” of the mastermind of the shooting Jonathan P. Jackson. 

Angela Davis was a Vice Presidential candidate for the Communist Party of America in 1976 and has also been a past and current supporter of the Soviet Union, Cuba, East Germany, and Jonestown (People’s Temple cult). 

When Soviet dissident Alexander Solzhenitsyn asked Davis about her thoughts on anti-regime political prisoners in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, she stated “They deserve what they get. Let them remain in prison.”

When confronted about the oppression and imprisonment of Jews in the Soviet Union by Alan Dershowitz she shot back at him “They are all Zionist fascists and opponents of socialism.”

Davis also supports the BDS movement and has taken part in making anti-semitic accusations against Israeli police and Israeli society as being racist. All this while never acknowledging the terror attacks on Israel from groups like Hamas and Hezbollah who seek the elimination of the Jewish people. 

This is a woman Rosman Valencia looks up to. He cannot claim to not know who she is while directly quoting her, and being the sort of guy to refer to himself as a “history buff.”

And make no mistake, the Valencia rabbit hole goes much deeper. He has posts accusing the police of being “systematically racist,” pushing an anti-cop conspiracy and accusing his opponents of being racist for being against race-based hiring practices for public employees. 

The National Telegraph will be looking into Rosman Valencia and other NDP candidates further to disprove the false “unifier” front many of the Alberta NDP candidates have put on.
